I Zentangled this heart while being held captive at a swim meet. (It was actually a really awesome meet to watch and my DD swam great, but there was a lag between diving and swimming). I ended up punching it because the heart I'd doodled was a bit larger than I wanted. I thought it would be perfect then for today's sketch with the large circle element so I popped it over a die cut and embossed circle. I used a wide, wired ribbon with an organdy black ribbon layered over it for my three strips. I added an embossed sentiment banner that I notched with a square punch popped over it. I used a square card format with the sketch flipped.

Black, white, and red, my favorite color combo for Valentines day. Mine have all been pink because my red and black papers are somewhat depleted. Guess I might have to break down and buy some paper.

I am speechless gazing at this beautiful Valentine! I pondered turning the sketch on its side and couldn't see the possibilities... isn't it wonderful we all have within us fresh vision!

Awesome take on the sketch Gail...love your zentangle. Your layers of ribbon are a brilliant way to get the striped effect. Beautifully done, my friend - thanks for the inspiration.

The zentangle heart is awesome. It's ironic that I was just searching the internet recently about zentangle. My husband use to do this in the many boring meetings he use to attend. I don't think he knew that it was a form of art. Great card by the way.
