WooHoo itÂ’s Teapot Tuesday and Jan aka Precious Kitty has given us a terrific story. The wind in Oklahoma came sweeping down the plain and blew all the roses to smithereens. Our challenge this week is to bring beautiful roses (preferably red) to JanÂ’s seriously ill cousin Sue in Tulsa.
I thought I would do something new, then I thought why break tradition and I settled for a stair step card. I have tried to create a rose garden, complete with garden arches and wrought iron garden art. I was bursting to make paper rolled roses, unfortunately the thickness of the roses adds an extra $11 postage. Grrrrrr Australia Post.
I applied green liquid pearls to a few stems and added a few Martha Stewart punched rose petals. The hero of the card is this beautiful Prima paper. A couple of the rose buds are red, so I hope I donÂ’t have to sneak in the back door at the Teaparty.
There were not too many disasters this week (unless you count my cardigan getting entwined in my Zutter and is now firmly attached to a little album I made for my Teapot Tuesday photos) I am sure these things happen all the time. I digress, the first Cottage Cutzs Lacy Doily die got stuck to my arm when I was gluing it, naturally it tore as I was clipping the hairs on my arm, so I cut out the centre and just used the outside, I call it a garden arch now. I expect the bald patch on my arm to re-grow before Christmas.
The creeper is actually a torn piece of tree that didnÂ’t die cut so well. I also used a bit of this tree in the left hand corner and also on the second step. Not all the die cutting failed, there is a complete doily (I call it my wrought iron wall art) and a big tree on the left hand side.
Thank you for looking and have a great week everyone.
