Kathleen (Lammie) gave me the heads up that this week's teaparty involved one of my "homies" (a fellow Minnesotan) so naturally I had to play. I think she also knew that I have a loon stamp..I mean it is our state bird after all..why wouldn't I?
I have actually been to the area where Peggy lives..disclaimer: I have not stepped foot in Hibbing but I've been to surrounding towns..Duluth, Virginia, Ely, Biwabik. Northern MN is a beautiful area. And while Marie gave an entertaining account of Lake Wobegon she forgot to mention one of Hibbing's most famous hometown boys..Bobby Zimmerman!! For those of you saying,,huh?? that's Bob Dylan!! Also calling Hibbing home..many NHL hockey players, Kevin McHale of the Timberwolves and Boston Celtics, and really ancient folks like me might remember Gary Puckett (you know Gary and his Union Gap). Oh well enough about all that...I hope that we're able to cheer up Peggy by sending these awesome cards..now I need to go check out the gallery.

Glad you made it to the tea party. Love everything about your card from the background, loon stamp, and the cabin--a nice scene---thanks for all the info---we get educated sometimes while doing our cards---LOL---may not remember it all but is there some where.
Polly this is amazing. Love all the details and your beautiful coloring. Now don't let those extra cookies get to your waistline! I liked the history lesson too. I must admit I don't know much about Minnesota. I would like to go there because everything I've ever seen makes it look beautiful. Great card.

I love how you designed this like a postcard! Wonderful image and what a great sentiment with it! I also love how you combined all those stamps to work so well in your design! And Gary Puckett was my all time favorite WAY back when.

Hmm, I did know you meant Bob Dylan, thanks to DH being a real music buff, but that he came from Hibbing, that's new to me.
What a fab card, too - I love the way the little panel with the boat is "moored" just at the end of the jetty. And as a bird-lover, the postage stamp image is probably my favourite. The woodgrain background unifies everything so wonderfully - especially combined with the sentiment!
We are always delighted to have volunteer hostesses for Tickle a Teapotter Tuesdays. All you need is an idea for a theme and a picture of a teapot to suit it.
