P is for Pumpkin, Pear, and Purple! And my theme: Bountiful Fall! and Thanksgiving. How did I come up with my username? Well, friends, I did things backwards. I started a blog first and called it, Paperpunchscissors (like rock, paper, scissors). Then I became a SCS member. Six months later I changed my blog name to Summerwalk Designs and well... now you know the rest of story *giggle* Summerwalk was the name of our street in the sweet retirement city of Surprise, Arizona. Isn't that a nice name for a street and a city? The call to our children went like this:
Me: Dad and I bought a retirement home in Arizona
Grown Children: Where?
Me: Surpise! *hahahaha*
Wow, thank you Linda for this challenge. I have just the card for you and all my SCS friends. This month, the design team at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has chosen their favorite stamp set to feature. The set I chose is Harvest Blessings.
I colored the image with Prismacolor (Watercolor) Pencil. I added a band of ribbon behind the focal image (although it doesn't look like ribbon) but I found it in the ribbon area of one of my favorite garden centers. It feels more like raffia to me. A little fancier than burlap but still has an autumnal feel. I cut thin stripes of brown paper to gather into a haystack. Then I ran some twine around the haystack and finished it with a lovely bow made with orange and green ribbon. A few autumn leaves tucked in for more autumn detail.
Thank you Linda for a great challenge and thanks everyone for taking a peek. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
And BTW: Tomorrow is our 45th Wedding Anniversary! It seems just like yesterday he was walking me to class : )
Hugs,
Susie ~

Hi Susie. LOVE your card. The colors are so beautiful together ... really love the punch of purple! The details are so amazing - love the strips of brown paper, bundled up with ribbons. And the raffia ribbon is fabulous!
