We had such a great trip to Colorado for the first time with the kids- journaling reads:
My Little Peekaboo Street: Emily had her first taste of snow over spring break since she was a baby in Connecticut. We decided it was high time we showed our kids what winter and skiing was all about! The Spains made all of the arrangements for us to go to Steamboat for 5 days and for the kids (Emily, Eleanor and Matthew) to go to ski school. Emily was a little nervous about not knowing how to ski, but once we dropped her off at the ski school, she left us without a second look!
Emily and Eleanor were close enough in age to be inthe same ski class and quickly advanced from the beginner's pen to the "magic carpet" which was a steeper slope. Both areas had a black "carpet" that the kids stood on and took them to the top of the hill- so much for tow ropes! Emily learned very quickly how to make a pizza slice (snow plow) and make turns down the hill. Her bright pink, lime green and black jacket allowed us to follow her progress as we went up the gondola to ski the upper parts of the mountain. Based on her progress this year, I know I will be following her pigtail braids and helmet in front of me down the hill from now on!
