When Denise gave me the CAS challenge of “watercolor”, I was thrilled that I was Guest Designer this week. I thought of the many watercolor-like techniques that we stampers can use, but I decided to go with the real deal.
I thought back to a class that I had taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden years ago, called “Chinese Brushstroke Painting”. It is the CAS of watercolor in my mind. LOTS of meditation(too much for a slap dash person like myself) before putting brush to paper. Each stroke has to say something and is put down once with no “futzing” around with it….so you have to think before you make each stroke and hope that your brush is loaded correctly. A lily that bloomed in our yard in July was my inspiration for this card.

Jaw dropping gorgeous, Sallie. Your talent never ceases to amaze me, and now a freehand artist. Each stroke is perfection. This should be framed for the work of art that it is :-)

Your 'Chinese Brushstroke' is absolutely and totally amazing! I know it's a lot harder than it looks and all your thought and meditation certainly produced a stunning image. Fabulously outstanding!!!!
