Our Teapot Tuesday cards are going to Karissa, a young woman with serious heart problems. Karissa loves mystery novels, puzzles and Nancy Drew. The wonderful characters in this weeks story and looking for a ghost so I have brought along Inspector Repmats to look for clues.
Inspectotr Repmats is a digital stamp, I think I made him a bit big, hence half of his bottom is in the window. In my craft world, things like that don't really seem important. The children are having their tea whilst the inspector is outside in the reedy grass looking for ghost footprints!!
My copic work is coming along very slowly, but I did do his face, hands, magnifying glass and shoes. The coat, belt and hat are all paper pieced. After cutting out each piece I swipe the edges with a dauber dipped in TH Distress Ink - black soot.
I stamped reeds on the dp and also on a scrap piece of dp and fussy cut a few reeds to give a bit of depth to the card. I added acetate and lace to the window frame before sticking down. I forgot to stamp the children first, so I stamped on a scrap and tucked them in under the lace.
To give a deep 3D appearance without using foam tape, I have only stuck Inspector Repmats from the bottom of the window sill down. The top half of his body and the magnifier are not stuck down at all.
Did you spot that Inspector Repmats is Inspector Stamper spelt backword. Have a lovely week everyone and thank you for looking.

Your coloring looks good to me. Love this little detective guy -- he kind of reminds me of a kid's book series my son liked when he was small called "Nate the Great". Nate and his trusty dog solved mysteries, and Nate wore a trenchcoat and I think carried a magnifying glass..

Brillant! Susie, this is so cute. Bum, or no bum, I think the card has great perspective. Your write up is very nice, and you did a great job with Inspector Repmats skin tone. Love the paper pieced coat and hat. I especially like those little gold flat beads or brads (not sure which you used), that was a nice touch. No I didn't catch the backwards spelling until I read further. You clever mystery sleuth (wink). Love the card, Susie. Into my favorites!

Aha, I went back and looked at your recipe list and saw you used liquid pearls. Very nice! You got a nice round - sometimes that's difficult to do. Again, a very nice card.

It's absolutely perfect in it's every detail, the name, the paper pieced detective, the reeds, the children having their tea, the window, and your copic colouring.
