I wanted to give this challenge another try. This time I used my race car stamp set instead. I found a picture on the computer of a real race track, enlarged it and printed it off on cardstock. Cut it to the tri-fold card dimensions specified with a slight adjustment. Used the checkboard from the Darcie decor. paper, mounted it on red and white card stock, attached a tag and checkered ribbon on corner of card. I use the metal pieces to open and keep closed the card for mailing.
Many have wanted more information, so I copied and pasted my letter to others.
I can not remember or find the picture I choose. I went to Google and typed in Race car track pictures and I found them somewhere on the first page. I wanted a picture of just the race tracks and I found several, but then it had to fit the small stamp set I had, so I cut some of the picture down . I made a Mirror image of the picture I chose on the computer. That way I had the track coming from the left and again from the right. I chose the one that fit the best and that was the main part of my card. I took the mirror image and held it up to the light and tried to cut the section you would use for the other side of the card and match them perfectly, then cut that side out and glued them together.
So it looked the same on both sides of the card. When it is "tri-folded" close you would still have the track showing on the other side. Then I made several stamped images of the stock cars and used cars on both sides of the card. I made a third stamped image and just cut the first larger car out and place it just slightly ahead of the group, so it appeared to be staggered and as if it were ahead of the other cars. I hope this isn't to confusing the way I discribed it. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Here are several links I found when I went back to try and find the one I used. These would also work.
I have been looking for an idea for my son's 3rd birthday invitation! I had already decided on a car theme, and I cased the site on Monday, but didn't find you card. Please add car to your keywords, so others in the future can find it. My friend just happened to see it and told me about it, as she knew my theme!
Also, how did you get the track to print just perfectly on both sides of the cardstock? I would also love the website where you found your track picture!! It would be great if you added the web address to the instructions!

This card is awesome. I love the race track idea. I am going to have to remember this when my cubscouts have our next pinewood derby. These would make great invitations.
