WOW..this site sure had a personal connection for me. My grandnephew is autistic. I sure didn't know much about it 8 years ago but I am well versed today. I was inspired by this autism ribbon pin and by this window pin. If you're wondering about the puzzle pieces they represent "the mystery and complexity of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and since every puzzle piece is different in some way, a puzzle piece accurately represents the diversity of the individuals affected." I have learned to think outside the box, get rid of normal expectations, and to have a lot of patience. As it happens my pal Aidan is having a sleepover tonight with Aunt Pol...he loves hanging out with me **sigh*** Oh and two more things, I choose the word "Imagine" because he is very imaginative and orange is his favorite color ;)

Really a touching card, Polly. Thank you for the insight that you gave into this disorder. It affects SO many. Your card opened a "window" for me. Thank you. Have a lovely evening with Aidan tonight....bet he adores his Aunt Pol.

Wonderful combination of your 2 inspiration pieces and even more wonderful story behind it. I can totally understand what you are saying as my son is on the autism spectrum. Until you experience it, it is very hard to understand.

Polly this is so creative and well done. Love that you were not only inspired by the IC site, but by your grand nephew. What a wonderful Aunt you must be. Love your card! TFS :0)

Even before I got to your description, I found your card to be quite compelling. Thanks for sharing your personal inspiration... it's a wonderful tribute to Aidan and an incredible piece of heart-work!
