This week the QFTD challenge is to CASE the QFTD that is closest to your birthday. I'm not going to say when my birthday is, but it was very near to the QFTD131 (Sept. 20), which was jojot, aka Joanne.
I went a ways back into her gallery to 2009 and these cards CAS Christmas jhg 8_11 by jojot at Splitcoaststampers
I could have used the same ef, but I'm a mostly 5x7 girl, so I used the M-bossibilities Holiday Magic Folder. I had made a trip into Michales today to see what after Christmas special I could find, and found the Create-a-flake-Four Spellbinders die set on sale. It was marked down to $7.49, but when I got up to the register, it was $4.99! Hot dang, I am so glad that I waited. They also had the 2012 Heirloom Ornaments and 2012 Holiday Tree at the same price of $4.99. I bought the ornaments, but not the tree set.
I didn't round the corners and I didn't let the white cardbase show. The snowflakes are the opposite of how Joanne did hers. I also added more crystals for a little more sparkle. The ribbon is a little different too. The way I did the knot is that it's tied around the base ribbon, so the knot can slide wherever you want it, left middle or right.
Thanks for the inspiration Joanne. This is an easy card. I can see me doing more of this one.
This is more of a winter card, so it can be used for several occasions.
