I hope that James only looks quite so young from losing his hair due to chemo! I couldn't find mention of his age anywhere...
I had no pirate stamps and went with a map and a pirate-style ship, plus some treasure with the gold glitter card and red gem, but I hope the card isn't too "old" for him.
5 3/4" square base. I used gold glitter card for the base layer and for matting the image.
IO Cover-a-Card map, stamped with Versafine Sepia, then a combination of wrinkle free distress, distressing and a lot of sponging. I added a little dolphin button.
Image stamped on Bristol Board with Versafine Black and coloured/sponged with distress inks, then cut and layered with oval Nestabilities and popped up on foam. I printed the sentiment banner, distressed it and added dimension with foam dots underneath. I tried downloading some dingbats with skulls and crossbones too, but for some reason it didn't work in Word, and with my MIL back in hospital I'm just glad to have made a card on the day ready to mail out tomorrow!

Great card - Looks like a treasure all on its own. That is a fine looking ship and love how you have it mounted on the map - James will love it. Every pirate knows you need a map to find the treasure.

Sure looks like an authentic old world style card - I love the rugged masculine card look - hey, most of those pirates are older anyhow - your card just has that old guy flavor!! I love how it turned out!!
