This card is for 2 challenges: Teapot Tuesday (make a card featuring fish/fishing) and Try a New Technique (make your own stripes). A paper cutter and a tape runner sure make quick work of this background and it's a great way to use scraps! I layered various strips of DP (no idea where most of it comes from, but there is some Basic Grey mixed in) onto a piece of textured brown cardstock, and layered that onto an ivory card. I added copper brads in the corners. Then I stamped my batik fish (Impression Obsession) twice onto another piece of DP in brown dye ink and cut them out, and layered them on with mounting tape. Fast and easy and looks much more complicated than it was! No sentiment, leaving this one as an all occasion blank card with a masculine feel.
I haven't blogged this card yet but you can follow my Handmade Card a Day Challenge for 2012 at: cardaday2012.blogspot.com. This is card #40 for the year so far!

This reminds me of textile art. How pretty and wonderfully creative. Welcome to the tea party. I'm not the hostess, but I know how to steal the best cookies! ;)

Katchoo! Bless you! Katchoo! Bless you! Hey, you might be allergic to fishing! Just joshing! Welcome to the teaparty! So glad to see you this week for the first time! Good job combining two challenges and making this wonderful little card! Love those striped fishies! Your first teapot tuesday card is wonderful!
Guess what? I hide yummy cookies for the newbies! Now lets go see if we can find where I hid them! Don't tell the teapotters, they are cookie monsters and might eat em all up!
