What a great challenge! I guess my joke would be "I cleaned my house last week. Sorry you missed it." To me this whole card is funny. I just love this greeting and the look on her face. This is a sneak peak of some brand new images from DRS Designs and they'll be released on Sat. Feb 4. And that greeting is my motto all the way!
I even have a note pad on my fridge that says "The only reason I have a kitchen is because it came with the house." Don't get me wrong. I can cook; I just don't want to. I don't even like to think about what's for dinner. So if my husband doesn't give 2 weeks notice that he's tired of a dish, the rule is, officially he still likes it. And to paraphrase Erma Bombeck "My second favorite household chore is cleaning (she said ironing, but I don't do that, either). My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint." I miss her witty words. She was one of a kind.
I stamped my new favorite lady and colored her w/ markers. I had this black oval frame left over from something and liked it so I cut around her elbow in order to let it be out of the box a little. The 50's retro sparkles were stamped in pink and black on the bg. I added a double punched border and a line of similar sparkle ribbon. I thought the punched houses and fence made her look like she's breaking out of the burbs, lol. You go, girl!!
The finished card is 5.50 x 4.25. Hope you like these images as much as I do. This just posted on the DRS blog.

Very clever! Phyllis Diller (remember her?) used to say that if someone comes to your door when your house is a mess, you should greet them with, "Who could have done this? We have no enemies!" Great card!

Julie, I adore retro images...this is fabulous and the pink and black color scheme sings "the 50's" to me...love that sentiment....hear that sound? It's several hundred fellow SCSer's cheering and applauding!

This is one fabulous card. I loved Erma Bombeck and I totally agree with you she was one heck of a lady. I truly believe that dust is a protective coating for furniture! LOL
