I had a lot of Anna Griffin paper scraps, but I wanted them to be more uniform, so I brayered either ballet blue or rose romance over them then sanded each piece real good to age them. After I had finished the garden collage panel (sponged with more mustard), I used a really fun new technique--fire!! That's right, I set it on fire and burned off the right side. It was very exciting! Then I stamped out two more butterflies and pop dotted their little wings, although the bodies are glued flat to the paper. Finally, I thought I would put in a little faux stitching sampler, even carrying the "thread" from the burned piece into the black panel. White embossed "Thinking of You." Whew!

Wow! These butterflies look like they are going to fly off the page! And I was thinking to myself "faux stitching sampler" as I was looking it all over, and then I read your description! Outstanding, striking card! TFS. Linda

Looks like a lot of work, but well worth it! Love the distressing, the burning, the faux stitching, especially where it fades into the black! Great colors, too!
