I was making a Cocoa mouse card for the Sweet n' Sassy Stamps blog this morning and thought the sketch challenge today would be perfect. It's Crazy for Cocoa month over at SNSS and all Cocoa digi's and clear stamps are 10% off! When I color this candle image red, I can almost smell the Christmassy cinnamon fragrance! The image is popped up on a doodled frame. I sponged all the edges with Ranger Distress ink, including the image, just to tone down the bright colors. The twine has been dyed with copic ink (blending ink mixed with Y21) - when I'm trying for a retro/vintage look, I find it takes away the bright whiteness of the twine, helping it to look like it's been stashed away in a trunk in Grandma's attic! The sentiment is from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps Poppies and Greetings and if any of you have Papertrey Ink's Tiny Tags dies, a lot of the small sentiments in this set fit perfectly.

How lovely to see those fresh colours - and the candle almost looks real. It reminded me of that potent synthetic cinnamon smell in Dobbies . You'll have to give me a lesson in using twine whenever we manage to meet up again!

If you were in the USA, I'd say it's the cinnamon pine cones at the craft stores that you're smelling! This is such a sweet card, Bridget!! From all the different dp's to the very cute image of Cocoa, the twine and buttons!! Nobody does twine like you!!
