This is my sample for today's F4A challenge ... to create a card that reflects the character of the person to whom you are giving it ... in this case, this is for my brother-in-law ... a unicycle-riding, bowtie-wearing lawyer. See?
We made these origami shirts way-back-in-the-day for TLC119. Here are the instructions that were posted:
If you want to make a smaller shirt that would fit on a normal sized card, use a piece of designer paper measuring 4¼” x 5 ½”.
Step 1 and 2: fold as directed.
Step 3: Fold back the top edge by ½”.
Step 4: Fold the corners in so that the corners meet at the center fold ½” down from the top folded edge.
Step 5: These folds will make the sleeves. Measure up 1 ½” from the bottom of the paper in the center (where the edges of the paper meet). From that point, make the triangles folding outward as shown.
Step 6: Fold the bottom edge up and wedge it under the collar flaps before creasing it. The front of the shirt from the top of the shoulders to the bottom is approximately 2 ¼”.
Hope this helps!!
Also, here's a link to a photo that shows all the steps. You can make the shirt smaller just by taking off a little bit on each side (just make sure you take the same amount off of each side).

Wow! This is one of the most thoughtful cards I've ever seen! That shirt is amazing, and to think you actually found dp for a guy shirt no less! It's perfectly pressed and ready to wear, and I'm sure that Richard will love this! = )

How very perfect. Your uncle looks like he could fit right into one of those old movie scenes from Around the World in 80 Days, or Journey to the Center of the Earth (he just has that eccentric, wise professor look about him!) Your card is AMAZING with that fabulous dp and the tie is just perfect. Couldn't get a better example to display the theme today. Thanks Wendy.
