I really wanted to do todays challenge with lots of HEAT for Toni but we've had some misfortune with a dear friend of the family and I needed to make a really special thinking of you card.
My mother's oldest and closet friend was rushed to our local hospital yesterday afternoon to be prepped for surgery this morning because her Ovarian cancer has returned and her scans revealed a large mass in her abdomen. This will be her fourth surgery over the last few years but she's been really sick recently so all we can do is remain hopeful. Okay, I'm fighting back tears here so let's move on to the deets:
Toni, I'm sending warm sunshine from Massachusetts your way but till it arrives the best I could do was put lots of heat on this card to create a cracked glass main panel. Iimage was stamped with the Weathered bg stamp inked in Crumb Cake. Over that I stamped images from SU's Simply Soft in soft hues of pinks/corals and greens. Colored images with markers to give some depth and then started glazing over and over again! Cracked the panel, added Crumb Cake on top to reveal cracks better and then mounted on a piece of dp from Paisely Petals and then Calypso Coral. Punched one side with open scallop punch. Added a little wrinkled crumb cake seam binding and bow and mounted that on very vanilla which I had stamped with french script bg, distressed the edges and dragged across the crumb cake ink pad to highlight. Base is crumb cake.
I'm going to give this card to my Mom tonight so she can take it to her friend tommorrow. Prayers for Barbara would be most appreciated.
TFL, have a wonderful Thursday! I'll try to comment throughout the day. Hugs, Robin
