My husband wanted a card to send to a member of our church who is far from here at the Mayo Clinic being treated for cancer. I decided to use both today's challenge color combo and yesterday's technique challenge to make on Old World look using distressing. I love this new nautical set....it really lends itself to this. For my "from the kitchen" element I sponged a background of Crumb Cake ink over a plastic mesh onion bag for the fish-net look. I also added a piece of twine that someone gave me wrapped around a loaf of homemade bread (she wrapped SEVERAL times around and I've used this twine in LOTS of cards!!!) I crumpled and sponged each of the pieces with Early Espresso ink and also added some around the edges of the card base. The ship is embossed in black on Night of Navy cs. I used a mixture of gold, black and silver ep in 3-4 coats over my circle piece then stamped the anchor on the last coat while it was hot. Last step was to stamp the Scripture verse.

Oh! Such a great idea using the Faux Metal technique with this anchor image. I think I'll make that part of one of Make & Takes at my Open House next month. Thanks for the inspiration!
