This week our teaparty destination is Jessica, daughter of fellow Teapotter Mutnik (Cathy). Jessica was seriously injured in a fall while riding her horse recently. We're sending cards with horses and flowers on them to help cheer Jessica up and hopefully help speed up her recovery. You can find out more about it here .
My card is a scene based on the picture Mutnik put up on show and tell a while ago with Jessica riding her horse, Max, on the beach. I had to make a few changes, especially when I was almost finished and managed to get a big black smudge on the brayered sky. So I covered it up with birds and in the process got another big black smudge and added more birds. LOL I showed it to my DH when it was almost finished, who informed me the water looked like clouds, so I did some touching up on the water and and waves added a couple of sailboats. The flowers are on the inside.
The sand is done with alcohol inks on glossy cardstock and so is Max, the middle horse. The other 2 horses are colored with Copics. The water is done with the salted background technique and watercoloring. The sky is brayered. The land in the background is hand drawn and watercolored.
The beautiful horse is a pinto from Third Coast Rubber Stamps. The finished card is 8 1/4" by 8 5/8".

This is really a work of art. The sea looks real enough that I felt the mist on my face! I'd love to see a demo of how you did this. Maybe some day. Great job on the card.
