Here's my second round submission for the SCS CAS Summer 2011 Design Team.
I tried coloring the chair to make it look kind of old and weathered, but I haven't convinced myself yet that I succeeded there. The card base is stamped with the Sanded background in Versamark to keep it from looking so stark and plain.

These type of chairs tend to deteriorate where pieces of wood touch each other or the ground, where the moisture stays. (My Dad makes and repairs them.) They also show wear first on the area where your legs rest and also on the top of the arms. Your stamped chair seems to show wear on the leg rest area and we can't see the tops of the arms.
If these chairs are painted rather than stained the paint usually peels off and leaves chunks of bare wood underneath. I'm not sure how you would colour that.
I think your colouring is pretty realistic. I wonder what it would look like with some soft green in the background? (next time)
