This was the hardest VSN challenge for me!! i dont "do" alcohol inks. S-T-R-E-T-C-H-ed me!!!! in the end i had borrowed a few sharpie markers from a friend. ...still it took me AGES to come up with something to do!...then i had the idea to use them on acetate, as it is something i cant do with normal SU markers. ....after several ideas got squashed (!) i went with this! i actually like how it turned out, even though the last dragonfly went off the edge. (by that stage i was getting lazy/slack/ hurried and didnt use my positioner!)..and the sentiment had a bit of a smudge somehow, but i am happy enough with it. wasnt sure how i was going to package it for sale because the last dragonfly off the edge but i think i will give it to my son - he will like that! i like the effect of flight with the acetate sticking up, and could see i would use it again with this stamp, or maybe a hummingbird etc (maybe i will get that S2S challenge done eh Kelly??!), but i think that is it for alcohols for now- for me! ..and by the way did you know rubbing alcohol markers over stazon ink on acetate makes the ink come off! i had to colour the rest on the back. ..nothing like leaving it till the end eh?! thanks for taking me WAY out of my comfort zone! i like how it worked out!
...sorry about the photo quality, it was night time!

WOW!!! I love this. I need to remember your card so I can use it with this stamp. So clever!!! Thanks for sharing--I'm glad you stuck it out. Into my favorites, for sure!

I woke up in the middle of the night and realized what the problem was with the stazon/alcohol inks. You stamp on one side of the acetate and color on the other side to avoid that problem (Stazon cleaner is basically rubbing alcohol, I think)

Oh Stephanie, those dragonflies are fantastic! I absolutely love those acetate wings. You did a fabulous job with the alcohol inks. that is my students favourite technique! I had to get more colors just to accomodate them! But they did take me out for dinner, so we are all square!
