The theme for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC59 is to use embedded embossing. To use embedded embossing, you punch out shapes or cut layers or strips out and then adhere them to your card base piece. Once adhered, place the entire layer in an embossing folder of your choice and emboss both the punched out shapes/layers/strips and the base piece all together. The result looks like seamless embossing Â… you have just embedded your shapes/layers to the card base.
ODBD's Porch Set is one of my favorite new sets. I love the Scriptures, and what the image brings to my mind. I enjoy coffee on my porch everyday, rain or shine. However, I do not have have a pretty porch like this one, but my SCS Bestie does! It takes me back to the times I have shared with her on that porch, and the laughs we had, and the prayers we shared together.
Hope you join us this week, ODBD's Design Blog on Saturday, May 7. Please use the keyword ODBDSLC59 so we can enjoy your creations too! Thanks for looking!

When you get to Wyoming, you need to make sure you have the best porch 'cause I plan to come sit on it! This is so lovely - the porch is awesome, the sentiment is wonderful, and the die cuts and embossing are just perfect. I love your work my sweet friend reminds me of sugar and spice and everything nice. Hugz - LYMI!

When I was growing up, I was so afraid of storms. My grandfather would take me out on our front porch and read the bible to me. I have never been afraid of storms since then. Your story reminded me of that time. Thanks for bringing back that memory.
I love your card.

Oh sooooo STUNNING. You are such an artist - you have a way of showcasing the main image without allowing it to dominate the card. That is NOT easy to do Pat, (at least not for me LOL), but you have mastered it. The colors and papers, embedded embossing, flower, wonderful verse and image - make this a stunner.
Pat what a beautiful creation this is! I love how you did a partial image of the porch, the dp is so pretty and I love that blossom. The corners look like tooled leather. This is an awesome card.
