I took this challenge to heart to take a blank canvas, and paint a portrait, but before I started, I wanted to go to the Master, who created the original. This found me on a plane to Florence, Italy, then a trip in a time machine to take me back to the 1500's to meet the Master, Leonardo da Vinci. When I told Leo what I had to learn to do, he told me it took him nearly 4 years to complete the Mona Lisa, and it freaked him out that I had to learn how to paint a copy of his masterpiece in less than 4 HOURS! Well, Leo was patient with me, though my hand was a bit shakey, and after it was completed, he allowed me to print my sentiment across the bottom, as long as it was known that HE did not paint this copy because of all the imperfections and shakey lines! After careful consideration, he did allow me to hang it in the Louvre - NOT near his, but in the basement!!
I found an old frame and a decent wall to hang it on though, and I sure hope you like my rendition of the one and only MONA LISA!!
This card is going to Kris (krischir) who was to have BOTH her hands operated on today the 22nd. Hoping and praying this is a quick recovery for her since she is a stamper who loves her craft!!

Great story and fun card! Having seen Mona Lisa in person I can tell you that you did a great job on this (and unlike the original that has tons of people crowded around it, I am sure yours will be much easier to view down in the basement!). The image was perfect for this challenge!

In my younger years I got to see the real Mona Lisa painting.. This looks even better.. LOVE the sentiment. I have always thought she should have smiled in the picture.. Great job.
