Hi! This card was made for today's Featured Stamper challenge: JazzyTobi. I chose THIS CARD to CASE, (Copy And Share Everything.)
Now, I have to tell you this...I live in Jacksonville, FL. Our town USED to hold the WORLD's LARGEST FREE Jazz Festival. (Now, they charge for it...) Anyway, I have LOTS of the Jacksonville Jazz Festival Posters, most of them signed by the musicians who played at the festivals. (When it was FREE.) I used to go back stage every day of the festivals, and remember, especially, meeting a VERY young Harry Connick, Jr. His New Orlean's drawl gave him away, as he was trying to "hide out" from the media. I winked at him, and that sly boy winked right back! That afternoon, my step- son, a VERY talented young man, got on stage and PAINTED a 6'x 5' portrait of Harry Connick, Jr, UPSIDE DOWN for the crowd. Afterward, Harry signed it, as it was auctioned off later that evening at a Donor's Party. He's my son, Nick's, half brother. And, he's done so much more!
Anyway, today's featured stamper got me on that line of thinking, and I wanted to share with you...hope you didn't mind! LOL I kept the color combo, layout and "thought process" as her card. However, I changed the stamp set, moved the sentiment and changed the dp to a contrasting type. The trees were stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black and sponged in with Distress Inks. Next, I colored them in with a VersaMarker and embossed in Clear. I sponged in Adirondack's Ginger as an emboss resist. Then, I dry embossed that panel with a new Tim Holtz Sizzix Texture Folder.
Finished size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to create: 22 minutes...heck, it took me longer to type this description than to make the card! LOL
