At last I have finished making a card!! I started this card for Father's day for my husband, and just finished it for him for our 27th anniversary a few days ago. Dh flys stunt kites for a hobby - which look absolutely nothing like these kites. But I did love this set, and bought it with DH in mind.
I just love the paper I used - the glittery off colour clouds!! DH was getting impatient for his card, and several times I had to seek his advice - what angle should I put the kites at, how to place the tails etc!!
The tails are made of a wired covered kraft coloured material which I coloured over with my black copic.
Thanks for looking! Hope I can get back to making my cards a little faster!!! Card measures 7 1/2 inches by 6 inches

Oh, Debzi!!! This was worth the wait, for sure!!! What a *marvelous* card. You can tell that so much work and thought and effort went into this. How wonderful that you were able to make such a personalized card for your hubby--right up his hobby alley!! I love the cloud DP, the bright stripes for the kites, the kite images themselves, the great kite string, and of course the tails!! And what a huge card size!! You needed that much real estate to fit in all the wonderfulness you included in this design. I LOVE it ALL!! I hope DH did, too

Your story reminds me of me! (1)I take a LONG time to make cards too. I take a lot of care in the design. (2)I ask my DH for advice ALL THE TIME! He gives the perspective I need when I am too immersed in the details. He has really good taste too (if I say so myself LOL LOL Just Kidding. (3)I really like to pay great attention to detail.
It is obvious you put a lot of love and care into this. Sometimes the journey is as fun as the outcome. I love this sweet kite card -- down to the perfect bowties on the strings. I bet your DH loved it too. Very bright, happy, colorful.
Holy Debz!!! you made a card! HOORAY! An awesome card at that! DH is sure to love this stylin' kite card! Happy anniversay! Your kites are so relaxing against that sky dp!
