I'm up way too late, but just couldn't put this down, lol. I loved all the retro stuff on today's inspiration site. It's funny that I actually have some of that stuff that I've collected here and there. For this card, I was inspired by Animals Book. I love books and these just appealed to me.
All images are DRS Designs. This little dog image is so cute to me. He looks so happy with his big stick. Too bad it will never fit thru the fence, lol. After stamping and coloring him, I used my Out of the Box Nestie Technique to cut it out w/ a classic oval nestie. It's attached to a dk choc labels 8 layer and a larger sand label w/ the doggy bg stamped in choc ink.
The lg dk choc layer was embossed w/ the distressed stripes folder. I cut out a white charm using a CB die then had to cut out a Nestie circle w/ the greeting and put it on top because it just wouldn't fit on the charm. I backed it w/ a stamped sand piece that I cut w/ a QK scalloped circle. To me, it looked kind of like a dog tag. Finished card measures 5.5 x 4.25 (A2).
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Yeah, that poor dog is going to be brought up short with a shock when he reaches the fence. There's an amazing sense of depth to this, he really does look as if he's running forward off the page.

Julie, love your coloring and the layers in this card. What a wonderful combination here.
