Today's project was a real departure for me. This is for two challenges:
1) Today's Ways to Use It challenge, WT271, Pen and {Black} Ink, to use {black} ink to embellish your card. Beverly introduced us to the Zentangle technique, which I'd never heard of before. It looked pretty challenging, so I wasn't brave enough to try a full-blown Zentangle design. But since the actual challenge was just to *embellish* your card using black ink, I decided to pick up some of the Zentangle-like doodles and use them as accents around the edge of my card and around the edge of my sentiment panel.
2) This card is also for the {ippity} IHHC24 photo inspiration challenge, to use {ippity} stamps and be inspired by the floral photo found here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
This is my first {ippity} challenge. I won a great set of {ippity} stamps, Moon Beams & Heart Strings, from Emily Niehaus (aka stampingout here on SCS) as part of a great collection of blog candy last week. I am so excited to be playing with them and to be able to play along with the {ippity} challenge!
The flowered background is actually a piece of floral print cotton duck fabric from my fabric stash. I frayed the edges a bit. My crumpled flowers were punched from vintage book pages and colored using chalk pastels and foam-tipped applicators. I sprayed them with hairspray to fix the chalk.
Thanks for looking. I hope you have a great day!!
Emily

Sewing! Minimalist zentangles! Fabric on a card! Fantastic crumpled flowers! Wow girl. Wow. You must have bought some extra mojo when you went on your recent trip because you are just a card creating machine lately! Love this. And congrats on the ippity win! RYPH
