Ever since I saw this image from Mo's Digital Pencil I knew it would be perfect for my mom for mother's day. My mom is actually a size 12, and has short hair - but she loves to hang out laundry and has done so all of my life. I had so much fun with this image and so much distressing it a bit.
I put this together yesterday and today - and gave it to my mom for mother's day - and she was very pleased.
It took me a lot math to figure out what size of squares to cut out as a background - for reference the a card measures 5 1/2 inches square, and I used 16 1 3/8 inch squares for the background.
I really enjoyed creating this card, and loved the result!! Thanks for looking! Punchakateers - I used just one punch - the modern label punch for the tabs.
Thanks again Dawn for your wonderful inspiratation.

Deb, I am sure this was a huge hit with your mom. It is just the cutest thing. If she loves hanging out her laundry, I am sure she got a big smile from this one. I love what you did with that background using all those squares. Love the distressing. I see you took a lot of time with your Mother's Day card. Good for you and such a good job and a fun card.

Wow, what rave reviews you're getting on this to special card. I love Mo's images, but my printer wont print on heavy paper, so I never do downloads. Having said that, I applaud your dazzling creation. You say you remember your mom hanging the laundry outside. Your mom? Well I guess you've not seen me back in the day hanging my laundry on the line. The sun is a fabulous natural bleach. Plus, they smell so wonderful. Too dang bad they invented dryers.

Oh, Debzi!!! This is out-of-this-world fantastic! You made such an outstanding CASE of Dawn's original card. Beautiful coloring and fantabulous distressing. I love how your checkerboard background (nice use of math there, my friend!) mimics your fun coloring job on the quilt in your image. And, I see you've added . . . BUTTONS!! What a gorgeous cluster. I'm so glad your mom loved her super special Mother's Day card!!!

Oh a Mo's image that I love but have never bought! Now I never will because I couldn't possibly color it as well as you have done. What a lovely card for your mom and such a sweet memory you shared.
