For each 12 x 12 cardstock, score cardstock at 6 . Turn 90 degrees, and cut 1 off (you now have a piece of cardstock 12 x 11). Score at 3 and 8. Cut on the 3 and 8 score marks up to the next score mark (cut should be 5 ). These make the front and back halves of the box. The sides overlap . Tape to put together with double stick tape.
Lid: Cut an 8 x 8 square from the 8 x 11 cardstock. Score at , 1 , 6 and 7 . Turn 90 degrees and score at these same measurements again. In the top row, cut out the first two boxes (on the left) and the last two boxes (on the right) that are created from the scoring of the score. Do this also for the bottom row. Now, cut on the 1 score in to the second score line (1 ), horizontal to the boxes that were cut off. You can now fold and have a flap on opposite sides to fold into the other folds. I trim these flaps a minimal amount on each side for ease in folding. Once you have the folds formed, unfold and tape with double sided stick tape and refold into permanent position.
Strips: From the scrap cardstock for the lid, cut two strips, 1 3/8 x 6 . With double sided stick tape, tape these over the overlap on the sides of the box, centering on the side of the box.
