Thanks so much, Betty! I could hardly wait for the Olympic Color Challenge to be posted. I hope everyone has fun with it!
If you've watched even a little of the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, you've probably seen the graphic designs all over the place. They are so colorful and seemed to jump off the screen at me. I, of course, thought...hey, I can make a card from that!
I'll be in Event 3...choosing 3 colors from the Olympic Icon 'Dude'. For the dessert option, I added silver. Hey silver isn't bad...I'm so proud of the USA Ice Dancing pair that won silver Monday night!
I used a brayer and masking to make each level. The main tree and sentiment are embossed in white. Although it's way out of my comfort league (a white based card?!), it reminds me of the winter Olympics that I love so much.
Go USA!
Another big THANK YOU to Betty...you're AWESOME!!!
TFL!

This is beyond fabulous! When watching the Olympics, I thought the same thing about their blue/green signs at various venues....gorgeous! Your card is absolutely breath-taking!

BEAUTIFUL card, Leisa. I've been watching the Olympics thinking...those colors would make a great card and you have definitely captured them. Love your sketch, your mountains are TheBomb.com and how cool is all the texture with each hill. Glad to see you back in the gallery!

OH MY WORD! You and Charlene took photos in Vancouver to make your cards, I am SURE of it! I LOVE these hills all soft and swooshy! And I see the CHF Pretty Pattern bg which means double extra credit points in my book! A gold-medal card for SURE!
