HOLLY *AKA TOY* challenged us to try the brick wall technique on SCS this week. A great tutorial can be found on the site as well. I'm fairly certain that my vertical bricks are quite unique, but honestly when I tried them horizontally, the vintage script on the the image got lost in the gaps. Hence, another chrisations modification. This is my first vintage card ever. I've been a vintage embellish collector for quite some time, but lacked courage to try. The brick technique reminded me of vintage so today proved to be the day! The collage image was stamped with soft suede and brushed with black. The bricks measure 1/2 inch by 1 inch and 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. Each brick piece is sponged with SU creamy caramel and adhered to a black panel. The butterfly image in the collage stamp was re-stamped, sponged around the edges and popped up using a dimensional. I also used a distressing tool and finished with some vintage embellishments. The key might be a tad large for the design, but, then, big embellies tend to be my trademark. LOL This was lots of fun! Now I need to remember to send the card and not hoard it in my stash!
Thanks for looking. Try the technique!!!
