Good morning...the night owl is at it again! When my husband came upstairs at 3am, he asked me to open my mouth to see if I was a vampire...LOL! He also wanted to know how I function on 3 hours sleep. I actually took a nap yesterday afternoon.
My son Dallas was waiting for the sketch challenge with me tonight while we were working on a jigsaw puzzle. By the time it came out, he was too tired to create but he did suggest making a road out of the curvy template. Great idea!
The sketch challenge SC256 today was to use the template provided by Roxy. I cut it out twice once I printed it. Then the idea of using the road came really easy on what I wanted to do. I started out using some vaseline on white cs with a cotton ball. Did these for the blue and green. I used sponges with the blue and green inks and smeared onto the c/s until I got the look I wanted. (I rather do this type of sponging because it gives it a more softer look and no streaks of where the sponge has been). I cut the curvy template on white c/s and used the same technigue as with the vaseline and black ink. I used several coats of the black with added pressure to get the road like this. Set aside. I used the circle punches to create the sun and part of the green grass, also with vaseline. Adhered with foam tape. I stamped the flowers along the edge of card with the circle in place. Colored the using color pencils and glitter. I stamped the only car I could find that would fit nicely on the road twice onto red c/s, colored with sharpies, added brads, and cut out. I cut the windows out of one, added presents and hand drew the peoples' faces. Adhered with pop dots. I used foam tape with tacky tape for the road and flipped it. I added the road lines using a white galaxy pen. I stamped the sentiment, trimmed around it, added embroidery floss from the car, and held it on using pop dots as well. I felt like it needed something else, so I added mini butterflies. I also was working with a separete piece of c/s to work with then after completed, I adhered to the base of the card. I had fun creating this challenge today Roxy and Peggy. Maybe later my son will create one too. Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by.
What do you think?

I noticed your son's card the other day and left a comment. I forget about it being holiday time over there, the mid-term break here is end of October. He obviously has a flair for card-making, as he suggested the road, which is perfect for this sketch.
We almost had a head-on collision this morning (lol)! Love how you added the package and people in your auto and the streaming banner is so dang cute--great job! I did use a Martha Stewart car punch which saved me a lot of time--got it a Michaels--sure came in handy.
