Well, I loved the third of Stef's thumbnails in today's IC, but I wasn't sure how to interpret it. And all the rest of the stuff, while very nice, just wasn't speaking to me. In the end I found this page of Don Carney's art, and knew instantly that it would work with these owls from Sideshow Stamps.
This is a masculine card - DH won't let me add anything at all to it - the two black gems were a reluctant concession. No buttons allowed, no ribbons allowed.
Stamped the image on beige card and added Crackle Accents to the trunk and branches. Lightly distressed the edges and sponged with Chestnut Roan. Layered onto some polished stone background, for which I used Caramel, Rust, Red Pepper and Espresso. I embossed it with Script ef and sponged the embossing and edges with black. Scored a frame around it on a black A2 base, added the gems and that's it.
Is it CAS, it's certainly simple, but not sure about the clean.
DH says I can lay any blame for the minimalist look entirely at his feet.
TFL.

Oh, Sabrina, you are so accomplished at the polished stone technique. You have inspired me to give that a try one day.
Back to your card ... beautiful, I say. Perhaps DH says masculine, but I wouldn't be sorry to have that beauty in my possession! LOL.
Another gorgeous creation from your talented hands!
PS - Computer issues were grander than expected. Ended up having to wipe the hd and reinstall after we chatted online this a.m. Bad, bad, bad. Forgot to back up my photos. Shoot me already. They are gone now. Work docs are intact; guess we know where my priorities are ... hrumphh!
Can't wait to see what new creation(s) you bring tomorrow!
