The Merry Bird House is designed using a NEW house template I created. The house template opens at the top allowing for a small gift or candy to be placed inside. If you will be turning your house into an ornament like mine, you can cut off the topmost tab and the ribbon will hold the roof together for you.
The little bird is made using the Birds & Blooms Dies. I cut two birds, stamped them with the Snow Swirled Tree, then I lined them up back to back and scored a little line horizontal to the birds bottom (about 1/8” up). I flared these bottom pieces out and then glued the tops of the birds together. I then glued a small triangular piece in between the flared out pieces to give the bird a little flat spot on the bottom, so I could adhere it to the perch.
The perch is a rolled up piece of close to cocoa card stock. I first textured it with the wood grain like texture plate and then rolled and re-rolled it until I got a tight roll. I glued the roll together using Tombow Multi. I then punched a hole for the perch using the largest hole on the crop-a-dile and slipped the perch through the hole.
