This is a case of the Featured Stamper this week, Shannan Steubner. Her gallery has such a wealth of inspiration! I chose this Wordy Birdy card. I kept the same basic color scheme and theme, but did use a different stamp set and sketch.
This card is for my son, Kyle, who turns 22 tomorrow. He has always loved animals, so I hope he'll like this.
I love the fru-fru ribbon that Shannan used, but I needed a masculine card. I wanted to use a similar idea, so I swiped some raffia over my Chocolate Chip ink pad. It adds a little something, I think.
TFL!

You must have been just a baby yourself when you had that 22 year old.... FABULOUS Card, love all the details, great work with the panels and the weathering... the raffia is the perfect touch too, great male adaptation indeed!!

Ooooooo! Those eyes! Leisa, this is GORGEOUS!!! The colors are so rich and all of the distressing lends itself so well to this manly-themed card.
(Thanks for the giggle you gave me with your post on my Old Brawd card. If it makes you feel any better, if I were a fruit, I'd be a pear. Bwaaa-haaa-haaaa!)

What a SPECTACULAR card. I love the owl images, the texture of the dp, the distressing, the raffia and the simple stamping of the owl on your envelope.
