This is my entry for two challenges: today's color challenge (CC227) to use lavender lace, barely banana, going gray, black, and white; and this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC24) to make a tag.
I found today's color challenge extremely challenging! Not only do I not have any of the non-black/white SU colors (so I had to approximate--I hope that's going to be OK), I had a hard time envisioning many of my stamp images in this color scheme. So I didn't think I'd be able to play the color challenge today and turned my thinking to the tag. Once I decided to make my tag by using my small collection of miscellaneous postage-themed rubber stamps, I decided to try the challenge colors with those--that wasn't too hard to imagine. (And I figured I could handle these colors with a smaller item instead of a full-blown card.) So I gave it a shot.
The central panel of my tag was stamped with a vintage map rubber stamp in my "barely banana." I stamped my various postage images in black, "going gray," and "lavender lace." Then I mounted this panel on a piece of white cardstock that I sponged with "lavender lace" and finished with a layer of white sponged with "barely banana."
The image on the right shows the back of the tag.
It's a kind of jury-rigged approach to the challenges, but it was a quick project and is certain to be useful.
Thanks for looking!
Emily

This is a great tag and you obviously got over your hesitation with the color challenge! Great job with both challenges!

terrific card, very creative way to use the colors, I also had (and have) trouble with the color challenge... I'm always amazed how everyone can make the same colors look so different, great tag.... I love postal stamps, TFS

Very nice job - I too thought this was a difficult color combo, and you pulled it off beautifully. I especially like the tag on the left - I never would have guessed those stamps come from different manufacturers - you made it look like a collage background stamp! You are so talented.
