I needed a card for my niece who just passed her nursing license tests...and has already landed a job! I don't have any nursing images and I wanted this card to be special. Well, I have been inspired by Anna Wight's recent eraser carvings. So I decided to carve something for my card. Since I'm no where near as talented as Anna, I used a nurse image I found in a Dover Clip Art book.
I embossed a line around the DP with my Scor-Pal. The ovals are Spellbinders Petite Oval - small and Petite Scallop Oval - small and popped up with 3M dimensional tape. The lacy paper ribbon is a 1 1/2" strip of white card punched on both edges with Martha Stewart's Arch Lattice border punch and a thin strip of the dark aqua down the middle. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, then masked and airbrused with COPICs. The pin on her collar is made with a dot of Stickles.
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy it.

Are you kidding me??? You made this stamp! Even with a nurse image to help you I still think that is incredible! Especially that you got the facial details so right on. Way to go!

This is so totally AMAZING and I am so impressed that you made this beautiful stamp. I am a retired nurse, who went to a hospital based nursing school and our caps, while in school were exactly like this. It was plain as we started and as we passed a certain point we got to add a black stripe in a special ceremony. Then it was 2 stripes and graduation brought a new cap. And now nurses don't wear them. What specail memories you brought to my mind. I've never seen anything like this. Beautiful card.
What a wonderful job you did carving this stamp. WOW!
