This card is one of those that seemed to evolve. I was looking through the SCS gallery and saw a number of challenges that I have missed doing lately and was inspired to do something different...so I hunted through my DP's and found this fabulous sheet of images that my Mum actually sent me with some other supplies that she didn't use anymore (Mum is here in September and I know she is going to get addicted to cards so I am using them up so she can't get them back - LOL!! JOKING!!!) Thanks Mum - you're the best!!!
I tore the top of the image and inked it a number if times(okay 3) and then realised it looked like the TLC FAUX Burnt Edges Challenge....so this is the 'Faux' Faux Burnt Edges Technique. It is also for the Inspiration Challenge which you can find here....each week there is so much inspiration...and so many different interpretations of them....I have added the DP, which is recycled from a gorgeous gift bag the perfume by DH gave me for Christmas...I love the colours in it and as it turns out, is perfect for this card....I'm going to have to get some more perfume!! The flower is from a RAK from my friend Pam (aka pam124) I have lightly sponged it and added a gorgeous button that came in a RAK from another dear friend Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn). I layered this faux burnt image, slightly angled, on some DP from K&Company's McKenna and added some Kaiser pearls.....oops...I nearly forgot to mention that I embossed, in white, the sentiment from Inque Boutique....I have always loved this sentiment, but never more than on this card...I am very partial to white embossing...especially on vintage.
I was not inspired by one card inparticular in the IC...just ALL of them. Every piece is an inspiration in itself....so I have gone more for the overall style...but I was inspired by Peggy's card:
...and cased it as well...as the IC and TLC....so there you have it...it has actually taken longer to type this post than it did to make the card..LOL!!!

So pretty sister. I thought for a moment it might be a family photo, (but am certain all of your childhood pix are in color, yes?) Lol! It could be your Grams? Love the touch of pearl and gorgeous papers. LYMI
