Here is my card for the CC224 challenge. I chose one of the first beach sets I ever owned: Hit the Beach by MFT Stamps.
The images were stamped on Gina K. Luxury card stock in Palette Noir and colored with Copic Markers and adhered to PTI Kraft paper. Can you tell I was trying to show the progression in tanning?
The beach ball is popped up with a dimensional so it looks like it is floating on the 'water' and I added a brad for the circular center of the beach ball.
I ran some Pacific Point paper through my CB with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder #my FAVE# and ripped the edge to give the illusion of water washing up again the sand.
Since I am not a good sponger, I used the sand stamp from Stampin' Up!'s A Shore Thing set and randomly stamped Creamy Caramel over the kraft cardstock. You know how when you go to the beach you notice the sand has some sparkle to it? I wanted to capture that quality in the card as well. I could not find my Martha Stewart Glue pad, so I randomly dotted the kraft paper with my Quickie glue pen and sprinkled some glitter on it. Perfect!
What do you think?

Wow! This card has so many awesome things going on, Meredith! First of all, love the coloring on the girls...sadly I usually end up as #2 and then right back to #1. Love how you mixed up the towel colors, too (oh, and those swimshorts--adorable!). Great effect with the d'vine swirls and torn paper for the ocean. And OMG the sand!!! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. You captured the "glitterness" of sand so well-I bet it looks awesome IRL! Totally fun summer card to go with this summer color combo. Awesome job!!!!!!
