I'm enjoying the winter wonderland we have outside our windows today! I know many of you have had enough snow for a life time... but I've missed the snow just a tad since being here in NC... we get some storms but not that many, and this one is the kind that's heavy and clings to all the trees, making it soooo pretty! DH can't get out so he is home today working.... it reminds me of the fun we used to have getting a "snow day" when we lived up north.
OK.... on to my card and envie. Today's Technique Lovers Challenge was to seal your envelope, cut off one end on the short side, decorate, and make a card to go inside. The bottom part of the envelope was to be crimped, and that would make the lower part just a smidge smaller so that the cut off part on top would fit down over the lower part. Well... I don't own a crimper, so I had to improvise. I used my CB, and my envie was a bit too light weight for that, so I made my own out of card stock. Worked like a charm, because while I was scoring the folds, I just made the top a smidge larger so it works fine.
I wanted a guy card today, so I used my Cornish Heritage Farms "Bird Watching" stamp on the card with Chocolate Chip ink, and layered it on CC, added one large eyelet, and some twine as a pull. I stamped the sentiment from Refuge And Strength, punched it out, then punched a mat in CC and applied on pop ups. For the envie, after I ran it through the CB, I used versamark, then used a sponge dauber to sponge on CC. Really a simple card all told, but very masculine and I like the results.
