For some reason, I generally have a tough time with wedding cards... this one had me stumped for 3 days! This is my attempt at making a pocket card elegant! I used part of the front of the wedding invitation I was sent for the front of the pocket (it's adhered all around); the vellum is stamped and only secured under the pocket.
Ok... here's the directions! Cut the metallic silver paper in half so that it is 5 1/2 inches wide and 11 inches. Make 2 score lines - one in the very middle and one 1 inch down from the top of the paper. Fold the first score so that the bottom side folds up to the top side (it should now look like a regular 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch card with the fold at the bottom), then fold the other score down to make the front little flap. I glue down the entire length of the 2 long sides with mono or even something stronger (mono doesn't work as well on the metallic paper). I used the actual invitation that was sent to me inviting me to the wedding for the front of the pocket. It was a traditional rectangular invitation, so I just cut out a section in the size that would work on the front of the pocket and glued it on. I stamped the sentiment on the vellum and glued it over the invitation part, but only used a strip of glue at the top of the vellum, not all the way around. I wrapped the ribbon around the folded down part, securing the fold down without gluing it. (The ribbon is from Michael's and I bought it at Christmas... the original price was 99 cents, I think.)
The pocket is a piece of silver cut down so that it could easily slip in and out of the pocket. I stamped the US White with Filigree and Sincere Salutations, then layered it over the silver. (I left room at the bottom of the white to write my congradulatory message.) It does pull all the way out... I just didn't do if for the pic as I had already written my message at the bottom! That's it! Please pm me if you have any questions!
