Congrats, Dawn! I was going to do some serious work on my Christmas cards today, but when I saw who the FS was, I could not pass up a chance to case My Gal Pal. I've been in Dawn's gallery a bunch of times but it was still hard to pick just one. I finally decided on Fall Batik. I changed the colors, the images, the season, the ribbon placement. I kept the batik look of the embossing resist bg but added an image/sentiment layer.
The bg Christmas word stamp (LIWP) was stamped w/ white onto white c/s and was white embossed. Then I wet the entire piece and floated in the dye reinkers w/ my water brush.
The bird (Inkadinkado) and sentiment (PSX) were stamped w/ white ink onto the temp. turq. and embossed w/ red ep. I had to use white ink under the red powder to get the brighter color on the turq. c/s. I added white highlights w/ a white gel pen. I cut around the out of the box areas and inserted my nestie rectangle to do the frame. I edged it w/ a white marker then attached it to a red nestie rectangle that was also edged w/ the white marker. These are attached to the batik bg w/ foam tape. I added a little stickles on the snowflakes.
The ribbon started out as white so I used markers and the water brush to dye it to match. A layer of temp turq is behind the batik and then it's attached to a red card. It measures 6.5 x 5. TFL
