Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, and River Rock...
I checked the bath mat this morning and found Speedy the Cat's hidden treasure...A bracelet filled with nautical charms...And TWINE!
So, out came this new BEACH stamp set from H&M Stamps... SHHHHH....don't tell anyone...but I HATE the beach!!! I live 16 miles from the beach and haven't been there in over 2 years...I can't stand the gritty, salty sand in my mouth, on my skin, on my clothes, in between my toes or ALL OVER MY VAN!!! I HATE it!!! Ever eaten a picnic at the beach? Where do you think the term SANDwich came from???? (Not really, an English earl came up with it...I bet he was AT the beach, though!!!)
I embossed the River Rock section to make it look like my arch enemy, (sand!), and used a dauber to sponge Very Vanilla with Soft Sky...(I'm out of Soft Sky paper...) Then, I embossed that layer.
The SANDals were stamped on SU! dp and cut out.
I stamped the shells on Very Vanilla and colored them using reinkers and an aqua pen.

I wondered what you would do with these colors since they are much more subtle than the ones you generally use but you still made a masterpiece.
We live near the beach, too and don't go much but it's more because of the crowds. We go more in the off-season to enjoy walking on our 1-mile boardwalk and enjoy the beauty of the ocean but hate those summer crowds!

You created a lovely beach in spite of your feelings, lol. Personally, having grown up running barefoot on the beach along the ocean almost every day of my childhood, I really miss it now. I wish my kids could experience an ocean beach, but we do get to go to a lake with sand almost every weekend. Wouldn't miss it for the world.

haha...I always want to go to the beach, and you can't get away fast enough. Guess the grass is always greener.... This card looks like a great way to escape the sand of the beach and still enjoy the scenery though - tfs!
