I so wanted to call this card "icky colors" or something but I couldn't do that in good conscience because it has the American flag and a soldier on it. Even if the flag only has 11 stripes and 30 or so stars. Gotta show some respect here.
I was hoping for a cute springy color combo challenge this week since I just got a huge order of cute springy stamps, but alas, I'm stuck with River Rock. Ick. But it kinda sorta works for this card, and I *did* use just about the only two stamp sets that I got that aren't cute and springy. Anyway, the main image is stamped in Basic Black craft, heat embossed with detail clear EP, and colored with an Aquapainter and ink pad lids, except the white--that's colored pencil. Sanded BG in River Rock on RR cardstock, that's about it. On the up side, I know several soldiers who would like to get some mail.
Betty's card that was the inspiration for this challenge was absolutely beautiful. But then, Betty has stamping powers far beyond those of mortal women

This is so beautiful. You did a great job with these colors. Love this image and just put this set one my ''wish list'' because of your wonderful card.

I LOVE this card and plan on copying it to send to my son in Iraq. I can forgive the inaccuracy of the flag when you consider the flag is waving in the wind and all details are not seen at once. The colors of the flag make "Old Glory' distinctive from all others. Our military takes great pride in our country's national banner.
