I have been working on about 30 hand-stitched backgrounds to make into cards as a special gift for my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher. Some chronic health issues have delayed progressing on these, and I "borrowed" one of the backgrounds to make this very special card for a dear friend on the very important occasion of her 80th birthday. I promise to replace this background with at least 2 more for my Mom, and I hope to finish the set of cards and be able to mail them to her ASAP. I will upload them when I finish them, I cannot wait! I do think that I have become hooked on hand-stitching on cards. The hand-stitching is so relaxing, I totally agree with Jennifer McGuire! It is because I watched a fantastic YouTube (all of her YouTubes are fantastic) on hand-stitching on cards using a Paper Smooches cross-stitch die that I learned that such a technique with paper was available, I was THRILLED!!! I uploaded a card made for my Mom some months ago--this background I have used in this card had already been stitched...
This card uses a pattern that I created as well as a color combination that is also my own.
The card is standing on the front of the envelope--and you can see a little of the "happy birthday" in pink. I love these dies--created by Elizabeth Crafts and Quietfire, such elegance!!!
There is a separate photo of the inside of the card along with a view of the flap side of the envelope, and another photo showing a close-up view of the stitching on the front of the card.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my card!!! Please know that when you leave a comment, you absolutely make my day!!! I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful, supportive community at SCS, you have all been such a great blessing to me, and I appreciate you all!!!
