This is my card for this week's sketch challenge, with which I fiddled a bit.
I had so much fun making my background. I stamped the cream panel with a background stamp (don't know whose it is), the I gold embossed it. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a Sissix ef. Then I sponged over the whole thing with Walnut distress ink. The gold embossing resisted the ink and of course the ink didn't go into the depressed part of the embossing, so I wound up with a cream, walnut and gold background. I really like how it turned out and will definitely be trying this again.
The bow is made from silk ribbon, the centre of the ribbon is topped with a bead cap, then topped with a half pearl.
The label is a gold embossed sentiment on cream card stock, mounted on a nestie label punched out of mirror gold card stock.
TFL!

My husband got a tour around your gallery tonight when I opened this card and exclaimed "OH how BEAUTIFUL"!!! (I had the laptop open while he was watching T.V.) You have hit one out of the park with this one and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing how you put this beauty together! That bow with that center embellishment is just delicious and I love how you used the gold mirrored paper for the fancy label. Your classy creamy paper as the backdrop is the perfect choice for this amazing card.

What an elegant card you have here, Jo. I love your background probably just as much as you. The ribbon and all the gold is just gorgeous. Most fortunate is the recipient of this card.

Okay, you lost me with the first layer, but then that's no shock is it Jozi? My gosh, it came out so unique and beautiful. Please do use that technique again!
