This week's SCS Inspiration Challenge is to make a card inspired by your home state, province, town or country. It could be where you were born, where you grew up and still call "home", or where you live now.
During Spring, I find myself missing the beautiful dogwood blooms in my home state of Missouri. The dogwood tree is the state tree of Missouri and the true harbinger of Spring. I remember driving through the barren countryside seeing the pops of pink and white from the blooming dogwood trees ... that was when I knew Spring was truly on its way.
I stamped the Hero Arts Dogwood in Olive Pastel ink on white cardstock. I stamped it a second time inking with Coral, Orange, and Rouge and cute out and paper pieced the blooms (for the Moxie Fab World paper piecing challenge). I also stamped and cut out a Lady Bug from Hero Arts Antique Engravings and had it land on a leaf. I colored the centers of the blooms with colored pencils and blended with an eraser. The sentiment is Hero Arts All Occasion Messages & papers are SEI Black Orchid DP.
I love sending out all sorts of Mother's Day cards ... not just to my Mom and Gran, but to all of the other people who filled that mother-role for me at different times in my life ... and to my friends who are amazing mothers to their children. This card uses the Corrosive Challenge sketch & is also for this month's Hero Arts challenge to make a Mother's Day card.

Very pretty! I miss seeing the the beautiful spring Dogwood tree blossoms both in my yard and growing wild in NW Washington state. I now reside in Arizona and do enjoy the beautiful spring wildflowers that are blooming here now.

I love dogwoods and wish they grew here! It's too warm in Tampa, they wither and die. A fabulous card Stef!
