I said come on over baby,
a-whole lotta shakin' goin' on
Yeah I said come on over baby,
a-whole lotta shakin' goin' on
Well we ain't fakin',
a-whole lotta shakin' goin' on
Mmm, I said come on over baby,
we got chicken in the barn
Whose barn, what barn, my barn
Come on over baby,
we got the bull by the horns
Yeah, we ain't fakin',
a-whole lotta shakin' goin' on
One hot summer day, Jerry Lee was strolling down a dusty dirt road. As he walked along, he was a-hungerin' for some good thing to fill his belly. A firetruck passed him by. No viddles. Next, a giraffe ran by, Jerry could hardly believe his eyes! It ran by so fast, it nearly knocked him over! Still. No viddles.
Jerry Lee kept going and came along this sweet lil apple farm in Rockingham County. Hmmmm... surely this place would have something good to eat! There were apple trees everywhere, and sadly no way to pick them! Not a ladder in sight, don't ya know!
Jerry Lee turned the corner, and the next thing he saw was the best yet! An eyeful of Miss Annie Mae Appleseed in the schicken yard. Her cheeks were as rosy as apples, and her frame, well... we will just let that go! Jerry's leg started jumpin', his hips were a swingin' and all he could do was dance! He and Annie Mae was a shakin' all thru that orchard, and by the time the music ended, well, there was even apple sauce on the ground. Yes, there was! There was a whole lotta shakin' goin' on! Just like that. C'mon, how else would ya pick apples in ROCKingham?
Now there's a barn dance every Saturday night in this barn, and I believe this is where the Apple Dumpling Gang began.....
Thanks for looking!
