Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Basic Black, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White.
Speedy the Cat ADORES my mother. He simply goes NUTS when she is visits. He sits on her lap and purrs and nuzzles her face. It's disgusting, and totally un-catlike!
Recently...last week...my mother has gotten new cancers. She now has stomach cancer and BREAST cancer....It's really horrible, and she's already on chemo, for leukemia, so there is really nothing left to do but wait.
Being a breast cancer survivor, myself, I find it ridiculous that this disease can manifest when someone is undergoing OTHER cancer treatment!
So, in honor of my mother, I have started a card drive for the women undergoing treatment for breast cancer in our city. There are 77 "breast cancer clusters" in our city, and that is staggering!
The background was run through the Cuttlebug Textile embossing folder. I rubbed the Pink Pirouette ink pad over the surface to shade the embossed areas.
The star was stamped in Pink Pirouette and the sentiment was stamped over the star in Basic Black.
The primas were WHITE! I pressed them into the Pink Pirouette pad and dried them with the heat tool. The leaves were punched out of Whisper White and then shaded with Pink Pirouette.

Sometimes life just isn't easy. I'm sure these times are devastating for your Mom - and you. I hope Speedy can help to ease her pain when she comes to visit, and I applaud you for being able to create such a beautiful card when your heart must be breaking inside. {{{HUGS}}}

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Thats some tough news to deal with. I do love your card. I love the black butterflys, the texture and all your wonderful layers and embellies. Great job as always.

Just beautiful, Faith!! Love the card drive idea. One of my favorite sayings for strength is, "Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is." Your Mom and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs and Peace
