This is for CC106 to use Really Rust, Marigold Morning and Brocade Blue. My little sister (baby in the family)is three years younger than me and is three inches shorter than me, too. She is celebrating her birthday on the 28th and I thought this would be fun for her birthday. We go to the beach together for a week every summer and and there is always much squeeling and screaming when were swimming in the ocean *****fear of crab claws**** The crab pinchers and sentiment so darn cute for her. By the way....my baby sister will be 53.
I stamped the crab with stazon and painted it with marigold and rust. Then I painted the float with rust and brocade. I sponged the ocean and waves with brocade and then sponged marigold for the sky. I used liquid applique to make the ocean foam and heated. I cut out the party hat, present, star fish and clam cake and attached with glue dots. I tied the three little sentiment strips together with linen thread and attached with glue dots. I used my baggie of brown rice to make a non descript background on both the marigold and brocade layer. This is such a fun set.

How special this is for your sister with your wonderful memories of times at the beach. Love the water and that darling crab holding all the birthday items on his surfboard. Adorable!

Awesome water technique; I'm going to try that. Also what did you mean by "using the rice bag" to make the background on the blue paper? I'm always up for learning more ways to do things. Linda

Such a cute combination. The picture you've created says it all. Just adorable. You've got to teach me the liquid applique touch. Mine never comes out as delicate as this. Mine always look like the card has a nasty head cold if you know what I mean.

Kittie, this has so many perfect puns I can't count them all! The ocean swimming and the crab, the pinch to grow an inch (I doubt your sister will still grow! LOL!) etc. It's wonderful. And oh my! that water! I've never thought of using LA to make ocean waves. Now I think you'll be starting a whole new wave! haha! Kittie, this card is adorable, and I'm sure your (very lucky) sister will love it! TFS!
